Example build 01 · Plumber and heating engineer · fictional
Kellaway Plumbing & Heating

The brief
A plumber whose work arrives as emergencies needed the phone number in front of a panicking visitor in under a second, without the site looking panicked itself.
The site it replaced
The old site buried the phone number at the bottom of a page that took longer to load than the leak took to spread.
See the dated before versionThe decisions
- The phone number is the largest interactive element on every screen, and it stays fixed to the bottom of a phone viewport.
- A response line sits beside the number, because speed is the whole purchase decision.
- Fixed prices for the three planned jobs are set on a workshop style board. Emergencies aside, nobody should ring to ask a price.
- No gallery. Photographs of pipework do not win emergency work; the number and the response line do.
Where it landed
Every price a visitor could want is on the page, and the call action is never more than a thumb's reach away.
